This Mountain Khakis Wanderlust Fleece is in my humble opinion the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who (1) likes cute clothes, (2) wants to be mind-blowingly comfortable, and (3) doesn’t mind that she will inevitably wear this fleece every day. The Wanderlust fleece is what I have come to call my “life uniform.” Every day demands it. If I were a cartoon character, I would be portrayed in this outfit.

You can probably tell I’m a bit enthusiastic about the Mountain Khakis Wanderlust fleece. I am not easily excited. This is a great item that I recommend wholeheartedly with no reservations. You want it. I’m positive.

When I am going somewhere where I want no chance that I will be even the slightest bit cold, I turn to the Wanderlust fleece. When I feel tired and don’t want to go anywhere but am going out anyway, I turn to the Wanderlust fleece because it feels like I’m still at home wrapped up in my blanket.

Isn’t that what we all need when we’re out and about—especially on the other side of the world—a little piece of home to carry around with us, that sense of being wrapped and secure? It’s what I need, that’s for sure.

The reason I say that this is the perfect Christmas gift is probably because a few years ago my parents bought be a fuzzy North Face fleece for Christmas. It was one of those gifts that I didn’t ask for but came to love more and more. Eventually I wore it almost everywhere. This fleece feels like an upgrade to the one I got all those years ago due to the stylish pattern and asymmetrical zip. The angled zipper isn’t just stylish, though; the way it wraps around your neck feels more like a scarf than your average fleece. Zippers on the neck are usually one of my least favorite parts of a fleece jacket. I find myself struggling to keep my neck warm without feeling like I’m choking. (Yes, I am very picky.) With the Wanderlust fleece, the zipper doesn’t touch your skin at all. Brilliant!

When I was first looking at pictures of the fleece I thought that the lines on it read as ridges, kind of like corduroy, in rows. I was delightfully wrong. It is evenly fuzzy all over, though—not ribbed, just striped—which I like much more. I often don’t choose navy for a sweatshirt because I end up looking too monochrome when I wear jeans with it. That doesn’t really bother me with this one because it looks so beautiful with the golden color in it. Also, the navy looks stunning with the ox blood corduroy pants I got from Mountain Khakis last year. Throw on the Harper bootie that I recently reviewed from Ahnu and you’ve got yourself a “life uniform.”

The Wanderlust fleece fits true to size, so shop away!

Go in style,
